Dr Roger Henderson is a senior GP, recently retired from his position as the head of a 16,000 patient general practice in Shropshire where he was also a GP trainer, running his large main surgery and two branch surgeries. He now works as a sessional GP in Scotland in order to concentrate on his health PR and media work. One of the UK’s most respected media medics, writing regular columns for national newspapers, magazines and blogs, he appears regularly on television, radio and the internet. He chairs and speaks at many health conferences both in the UK and globally and, linked to his interest in diabetes, is the UK Medical Director for LIVA Healthcare – winner of the Health IT firm of the year at the Health Investor Awards 2018 and also the Healthtech Innovators of the Year for Europe at the GHP Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2018. In the last decade he has become one of the UK’s foremost speakers on smoking cessation and his advice in this area is sought by many major organisations, and he also lectures widely on influenza and immunisation strategies as well as many other areas of general medicine.
