Dr Daryl Freeman

Associate Clinical Director in Primary Care & GP Older People's Medicine and Palliative Care, Norfolk Community Health & Care (NCH&C)

Daryl Freeman left General Practice last year to start a new role as one of two Associate Clinical Directors for Norfolk Community Health & Care. The role is a combination of strategic – delivering the 5 year Forward View with the local CCGs and clinical – working on the various wards situated in 6 Community Hospitals around Norfolk.

The post has led to a role as Chair of the Norfolk & Waveney STP Respiratory Working Group and a role within the STP development pathways as a whole.

Working with North Norfolk CCG Daryl has designed & delivered a practice based respiratory service in conjunction with a local Respiratory Nurse Specialist.

Dr Freeman is a past Clinical Director for NHS England Respiratory SCN. This role encouraged integrated working to improve respiratory care within the whole of the East of England. In addition to this East of England role she is the region’s representative for the PCRS (Primary Care Respiratory Society), and a member of their Service Delivery Committee. Membership of this committee led to a role working with RIGHT CARE on the development of their recently launched COPD Pathway.

In her spare time Dr Freeman rides and competes her horses around England and looks after her four dogs.

She combines her work and hobby by providing medical care to National and International Equestrian Events, thus ensuring her trauma skills are kept up to date.

In addition she has an HGV licence – as the NHS is in a precarious state, it’s always best to have a second career!
