GP Trainee of the Year
This award seeks to recognise a GP trainee who has made an outstanding contribution to patients or their practice. It is open to all UK medical graduates who are currently in postgraduate training to become a GP. We invite applications from GP trainees themselves and nominations from practice colleagues.
Applications should demonstrate:
- A brilliant GP trainee who has made their mark on their practice or local community
- Projects that improve patient care and/or safety will be considered, as will those that show the trainee has helped to ensure general practice or their local area is a better place
- Particular credit will be given to applications with evidence of good leadership and overcoming significant obstacles
Criteria that judges will be marking against
- Clear evidence of the trainees’ impact on their patients, practice or the local area
- Evidence of exceptional leadership, imagination and/or innovation and how these qualities have influenced the outcome of their work
- Measured improvements in patient care, ideally including clinical outcomes
- The sustainability of the changes observed
