Peter McDonald has been a Consultant General Surgeon at Northwick Park and St. Mark’s (NPM) since 1991.
He is a gastrointestinal surgeon with a special interest in coloproctology, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia surgery, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, paediatric general surgery and emergency gastrointestinal surgery. His clinical research interests have included cancer, Crohn’s Disease and
He is Chairman of the Medical Staff Committee at NPM and Sub-Dean at St. Mark’s Hospital. He has been Honorary Editor of the Royal Society of Medicine and a past Hon. Secretary
of the Section of Surgery at the RSM. He writes, speaks and broadcasts extensively about many topics and can often be heard on BBC Radio 4. Peter has published a novel and is the author of the “Oxford Dictionary of Medical Quotations”.
